1. By Examination

The applicants applying for nursing aide certificate need to fulfill all the eligibility conditions required by their state, such as:

• After completing a board approved CNA Program program, you must take the certification exam within 1 year.
• Submit both the examination application and the American Red Cross application at the same time so as to schedule your exam.
• Successfully complete a nurse aide program program approved by the Board and pass the exam within the past 2 years. You must complete the WSBN certification process in these 2 years.
• Attach the required non-refundable, processing fee in the form of money order, cashier’s check, MasterCard, VISA or Discover along with the endorsement application.
• One must not be a part of any crime. In case you have committed any such act, you will be required to submit sufficient documents to the board, in order to analyze your case.

You must meet the following requirements if you are applying for CNA license by endorsement from another state:

• Proof of meeting the continued competency requirements.
• Refer to point number (IV) and (V) of Eligibility Criteria to Obtain CNA Certification by Examination.

If you have recently completed the program program, you must follow the below procedure:

• After filling in all the essential details, return the application with the fee to the Board Office address mentioned above [Refer Point number (ii) of the procedure of CNA Certification by Examination].
• You may request for a 90-days temporary permit if you meet the following requisites:
  • Submit proof of current certification held in another state or territory.
  • Provide complete endorsement application along with the required fee. Put a check on the appropriate box on the endorsement application.

All CNA certificates expire on December 31 of every even-numbered year. To renew your nurse aide certificate in Wyoming, you must meet any one of the following competency options:

• Successfully complete a competency evaluation and nursing assistant program program approved by the state, and pass a national nursing assistant certifying examination within the past 24 months.
  OR
• Worked as a certified nurse assistant for at least 16 hours and have completed 24 hours of learning activities related to nursing aide practice, which includes continuing education hours or in-services- since your last renewal period.
  OR
• Registered in an approved nursing program and have taken part in direct patient care since the last renewal period. After completing your online renewal, you will be required to provide a transcript.

You are required to pay a non-refundable renewal fee of $50.00. You can complete the transaction using a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or Discover). An additional processing fee of $5.00 will be charged.
