CNA Certification In Wyoming

All aspirants are required to complete their certification, in order to work as a nursing assistant in the state. For CNA certification in Wyoming, aspiring nurse aides firstly need to complete CNA Program that is approved by the Wyoming Department of Health, and then pass the state nurse competency evaluation exam. Besides, the candidates are supposed to apply to get them listed on the Wyoming State Nurse Aide Registry.

Eligibility Criteria to Obtain CNA Certification in WY

1. By Examination

The applicants applying for nursing aide certificate need to fulfill all the eligibility conditions required by their state, such as:

  • After completing a board approved CNA Program program, you must take the certification exam within 1 year.
  • Submit both the examination application and the American Red Cross application at the same time so as to schedule your exam.
  • Successfully complete a nurse aide program program approved by the Board and pass the exam within the past 2 years. You must complete the WSBN certification process in these 2 years.

Procedure of Getting Nurse Aide Certification in WY

1. By Examination

If you have recently completed the program program, you must follow the below procedure:

  • You may request for a 90-days temporary permit if you meet the following requisites:
    • Submit proof of current certification held in another state or territory.
    • Provide complete endorsement application along with the required fee. Put a check on the appropriate box on the endorsement application.

Renewal of CNA License in WY

All CNA certificates expire on December 31 of every even-numbered year. To renew your nurse aide certificate in Wyoming, you must meet any one of the following competency options:

  • Successfully complete a competency evaluation and nursing assistant program program approved by the state, and pass a national nursing assistant certifying examination within the past 24 months.
    OR
  • Worked as a certified nurse assistant for at least 16 hours and have completed 24 hours of learning activities related to nursing aide practice, which includes continuing education hours or in-services- since your last renewal period.
    OR
  • Registered in an approved nursing program and have taken part in direct patient care since the last renewal period. After completing your online renewal, you will be required to provide a transcript.
