CNA Certification In Idaho

CNA certification in Idaho enables you to avail a wide number of job opportunities in the healthcare industry. To become a certified nursing assistant in the state, applicants are required to complete nurse aide program, pass the competency exam, and get their name listed in the Idaho Nurse Aide Registry. The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare approves the program courses and manages the state registry.

Requirements for Acquiring CNA Licensure

1. Examination

The eligibility criteria for obtaining the nursing aide certification by examination include:

  • Complete a nurse aide program program approved by the state.
  • Pass the manual skills evaluation within a period of 6 months after the completion of your program program. You are required to provide the evidence depicting the successful completion of the manual skills exam on the testing day.
  • Pass the written evaluation exam within a period of 12 months after the completion of your program program.

Note You can pass the exam in 3 attempts, and if you are unsuccessful in the third attempt, you will be required to retake an approved nurse aide program program.

If you have completed your CNA Program in another state, you must fulfill the following requisites:

  • Submit proof of successful completion of the program program in another state, which must meet all the criteria mentioned in Idaho’s OBRA.
  • Successfully completed the competency evaluation within the specific testing timeframes of the state, i.e., qualified the written test within 12 months of completion of program and cleared the skills test within 6 months of the program completion.

2. Reciprocity

If you currently hold a CNA licensure in another state and wish to transfer it to the state of Idaho, you must provide an evidence of holding an active CNA license in another state from where you are transferring.

Renewal / Recertification of the Nursing Aide Licensure in ID

To renew CNA license, you are required to work a minimum of 8 hours as a paid certified nursing assistant in the two years of your certification period.

Answer – For the sake of transferring your license to another state, you are required to contact the Nurse Aide Registry of the state you are transferring to. They will provide all the instructions of the transfer process. You may have to pay some transferring fee (as required by a few states).

Question 3 – I have misplaced my CNA license, how can I get another one?
