CNA classes in Colorado are administered and regulated by the Colorado board of nursing through the Department of Regulatory Agencies. The completion of this program makes you eligible for taking CNA certification exam and its clearance gets you listed under nurse aide registry. Nurse aide programs must be approved by the state and comply with the provisions of 1987’s Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act, which mandates the candidate to finish 75 hours of program. However, some institutes in CO offer 80 hours of program.

Requisites to Enroll in the CNA Classes in Colorado

Coursework of Certified Nursing Assistant Programs

The basic curriculum of the program program includes subjects based on basic nursing care, personal nursing care, adult care, mental care, promotion/respect of patients’ rights and independence, restorative care, emergency care, infection control, communication and interpersonal skills, patient grooming and hygiene, proper administration of medicines, patient mobility, and rights of the patient. During clinical sessions, one learns various skills such as hand washing, wound dressing, shifting the patient from the bed to wheelchair using a transfer belt, prevention of bed sores, etc.
