CNA classes in Indiana have gained momentum in recent times since most of the students wish to make their career in this field. Certified nurse aide programs are conducted at several places throughout the state, and last for a few weeks or for a college semester. Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) oversees the nursing assistant program in IN to ensure that prospective CNAs meet the requisite qualifications, and are appropriately placed on the Nurse Aide Registry. These classes equip you with medical and technical skills that are essential to crack the competency exam.

What are the requirements to get admittance in a CNA Classes in Indiana?

The basic requisites are as follows:

  • Candidates, who are considering a CNA course in Indiana, must have completed a high school diploma.
  • You should not be less than 18 years of age.
  • One must have sound verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • The candidates should maintain good physical and mental health; and must have skills to handle patients tactfully with patience and compassion.

  • The aspirant must have a clear background and must not have any criminal record.

Time and Cost

Indiana State Department of Health requires the candidate to take 105 hours of structured classes which comprise a minimum of 75 hours of clinical program in medical settings, and 30 hours of classroom instructions. You will have to pay about $400 to $1200 as the program fee. However, some CNA schools offer financial assistance or free program to the deserving candidates so that they can cover the cost of the course and certification.

1. What qualifications are required to enroll for a certified nursing assistant program in Indiana?

Answer: To become a certified nursing assistant, a candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent. In other cases, candidate must have completed at least ninth grade. Other requisites are- 18 years of age, excellent communication skills, and clear criminal background.
