2. Nursing Related Scholarships

The state offers following nursing scholarship programs to those who wish to become nursing assistant. You should contact the financial aid office of school, college and university to inquire about free CNA program and eligibility criteria for it. The fund provided by the following scholarship program covers the entire program cost.

  • Alvin J. Cox Memorial FundThe scholarship is available to the students who demonstrate financial need, in order to get admittance into a college or university. You are required to submit all the requested documents by the deadline including an attached document that describes the reason for applying in the scholarship program and your involvement in community services. The amount of $700 is funded to the selected candidates.
  • State of Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board – Academic Excellence ScholarshipThe amount of $2250 is awarded to the high school seniors who have maintained the highest GPA in each private and public school all over the state. In order to avail the scholarship, candidate must be enrolled in the full-time program of Wisconsin Technical College or the University of Wisconsin and an independent institution in the state. Half of the scholarship is sponsored by the state while the institution funds the other half.
  • Wisconsin American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship – Past Presidents ParleyThe fund of $1000 is awarded to the students pursuing a career in the nursing field. In order to meet the requirements, the candidate must meet the following criteria:
    • S/he should be a son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter, grandchild, wife or widow of a veteran.
    • One must be a resident of Wisconsin.
    • Candidate should be an undergraduate student and a US Citizen.
    • It is mandatory to show the financial need for all the applicants.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required.
    • Applicant should be affiliated with American Legion or Auxiliary.
    • Besides, letters of recommendation, transcripts and a copy of documents that shows the veteran was in service.
