CNA Program In Georgia

If you are planning to start your career as a certified nursing assistant in the state of Georgia, then you will have to undertake the nurse aide program that is regulated by the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH). In order to oversee and administer these programs, DCH contracts with Alliant GMCF. CNA classes in Georgia endow the students with the skills and competency required to clear the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program Exam (NNAAP).

Prerequisites for CNA Classes in Georgia

The Georgia DCH set the standards for nurse aide programs that must be followed by every program institute. So, before you apply for the CNA course, meet the following requirements:

  • The age of the applicant should be 16 years.
  • The candidate must be proficient in English language.
  • Reports of background check should be submitted.
  • You must have no record of criminal act.
  • 2 fingerprint cards, 2 passport size photos, and a legitimate photo ID are required at the time of application.
  • One must pass the TB test and drug screening test to enroll in the program program.
  • Proof of immunization is essential.
  • It is not mandatory to possess a high school diploma. However, it will brighten your future prospects.

Cost and Duration of the CNA Classes in GA

Those who are enrolled in the NAT (Nurse Aide Program) program are required to shell out between $700 and $900 to pay their fees. These figures change from school to school. An additional amount of $200 is charged for the state examination and certification

In order to become a certified nurse aide in Georgia, you will have to attend a state-approved program program that incorporates 85 hours of program.  It includes 24 hours of supervised clinical practice in a nursing home or other health care facility. A licensed RN or LPN will oversee the students during their clinical sessions.

Answer: The Georgia Health Partnership, Medical Care Foundation that regulates all the programs in the state, does not approve online CNA program. So don’t go for online CNA courses.

2. Is it essential to possess a high school diploma (HSD) for enrolling in the CNA program?

Answer: An aspirant is eligible for taking the CNA classes whether s/he holds HSD or not. But this is required for further programs.

3. If a candidate found with a criminal record, is s/he eligible for CNA program?
